I get all inspired and decide I’m going to learn. Then I take a class and can’t for the life of me get my hips to go left and my arms to go right or figure out how the heck the instructor is moving so fluidly while I look like a drunk chicken. This workout program will follow a similar structure to Autumn’s previous programs in that the format will be 30 minute long dance workout routines. This is one of the things we both enjoy most about Autumn’s fitness routines because other popular Beach Body programs get you working out for almost an hour a day. And it is much harder to find an hour in the day to spare than it is to find a half hour uninterrupted.

This program will include use of the portion control color containers as used in the 21 day fix program. A lot of people doubted that this dance exercise program could prove to burn as many calories as Autumn Calabrese’s former programs, but boy were they wrong! These workouts got our heart rate going and pushed us past the fat burn zone into the cardio zone for the majority of the workouts.
If you are familiar with Autumn Calabrese ’s 21 Day Fix Program, then you will know that using portion control containers is a key component to having success with any of her workout programs. While the workouts will help you to burn calories and therefore burn excess fat and get stronger through workouts such as Dance Conditioning, the nutrition component is just as crucial.
Green Container = Vegetables such as Lettuce, Tomatoes, Carrots, Celery, Broccoli, Spinach, Bell Peppers. The Con’s of Country Heat, If you don’t like Country Music, this is not your workout. If you are already in great shape and looking to push yourself, this is not your workout.The music is amazing, however it is not the original performers. So if you were expecting the originals, you might be disappointed.

I opted not to go into much more statistical analysis here to keep it simple (like T test, p-value, etc.), but the results in both tables show some inconsistency in relative differences in heart rate data between us.

Then came the moment of truth: the workout. Right from the get-go, I realized this wouldn’t be torture, after all. The music was a blast, the people in the video looked like they were having the time of their lives, which made it more fun for me to follow along, and the workout was actually a lot of fun!
The base package gives you the essentials you need to get going on starting both the exercise and nutrition components of the program. If you don’t mind spending a bit extra, you might consider the Deluxe package as you will get an extra workout. So I am more likely to use the workouts in this program as a supplement for my cardio days, or when I’m feeling doing something different.
Workout Summary: Country Swing is a great cardio workout – it starts off a little easy and you’re thinking “Umm, is this it?” but then the moves start becoming more challenging yet easy to follow. My heart rate was increasing and I was working up a good sweat. What is Country Heat? To start with, Country Heat is primarily a dance program that is intended to help you burn off calories, shed unwanted pounds and get fit. It was developed by Autumn Calabrese.
There are also some squat and lunge style moves but all in all, it hardly feels like exercise and the calorie burn is comparable to my results with the 21 day fix.
Each workout comes with a step-by-step breakdown of all the moves, and they are easy to follow. The format is simple–you do one move 8 times, then another move 8 times. Then you put those moves together and do them 4 times. Besides, the goal is to just have fun, so as long as you keep moving, you’ll be fine!

However, the “Dance Conditioning” workout included in this program is also a great way to help build muscle. I did enjoy this workout about the same as the first routine. The moves were a lot of fun and really worked my abs – especially Rib Rock and Barrel Roll. Other moves also had light jumping (which you could either do marching/stepping or jump higher to increase calorie burn).
Another tip is to use your arms as much as possible while doing this workout so you can get the highest burn possible and work your entire body.

[This is my FAVORITE part of challenge groups! That’s why I haven’t told you about it–since you’ll never hear me recommending something unless I can stand behind it. But I had a chance to try these workouts and they are AMAZING!!!!!! We also noticed some discouraging user comments for Beachbody Country Heat workouts. In fact, one person said, “These workouts are all the same. I’ve tried a few different programs like this one. Not saying they don’t work, but they lack simplicity. I need something I don’t have to memorize.”

Now if you are familiar with CIZE, you know that you do the same routine for a week, then a different one the following week, etc. This one is different–you’ll do some workouts two days in a row, but for the most part, it’s mixing things up. Saturdays will be the days off (of course you could start the program on any day to accommodate the best rest day for you).
I would LOVE this. I’ve always been a fan of dance inspired workouts, due to the fact that I was a bunhead in a former life! Perfect for my home gym too.

Who Is Autumn Calabrese? What Are Her Qualifications? We already mentioned that Autumn is creator of 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme, but what else do we know about her? According to the bio on her website, she’s also frequently placed in the top 10 in national-level bikini competitions, authored the cookbook FIXATE, and even worked for Brooke Burke’s website, Modern Mom.
One of the greatest problems I have with at home workouts is that my workout shoes slip around so much when I am doing “twist and turn” moves and I find myself sliding all over my hardwood floors. I have the opposite issue when working out on carpet, as my shoes stick to the carpet and won’t let me glide as effortlessly as I’d like.

This looks fun…but, yeah. Another drunk chicken dancer here (and a BAD one at that). I did a 5K last year, and they had a zumba gal leading the warm-up….. my friend and I went over and tried to join in. And then all these other peeps joined in BEHIND us….cwhat?
